I believe that I have posted a motivational poster above, or somewhere near this post that should say:
"Quitters never win, and winners never quit. But those who never win AND never quit are idiots."
OK, think about that for a minute, because I know that when I read that once, I'm not following it... So here it is again:
"Quitters never win, and winners never quit. But those who never win AND never quit are idiots."
Now, that you've either read this twice or completely ignored everything that I've said I will explain: Quitters never win. OK, that makes sense, if you quit you aren't playing, meaning it's impossible for you to win. Plus, if you are quitting you aren't focusing on what you are trying to win, you are focusing on something else; or else you would be good enough that you wouldn't have wanted to quit, and you would have already won. Winners never quit. That means that if you are a winner, even if you aren't very good at something you will practice enough until you are good and you do win. Also, if you are winning, even if something gets hard, you don't want to quit. Now, "Those who never win AND never quit are idiots". This means that if you aren't winning, but you just don't grasp the concept and you aren't quitting at some point, call it say the point of failure, then as the saying goes you are pretty stupid.
Now, giving further thought to the statement:
What if you are learning, say, how to read. When you are learning how to read you when once you've learned how. But say you just aren't getting it, and you can't pronounce any of the words, or any part of them even. If you quit, you are likely to end up like the homeless person I mentioned in my last blog. So if you quit something that you need to know, there will be some bad news following.
So far I've concluded that the end of these few statements that I'm conversing about "Those who never win and never quit are idiots", I've concluded that isn't exactly something you need to follow, unless.....
Say you're gamboling, playing 21, or Blackjack, as others call it. And you aren't winning, you've just got bad luck (I know 21 isn't a 100% luck game, but mostly, it's luck). And if you never win and never quit, you will also end up like the homeless person mentioned in my last blog.
Now you don't know what to think. But maybe that's just it. You need to think. When you think about learning how to read and you think about what your future will be like if you stay and keep trying, and what your future will be like if you quit you notice that if you stay and keep trying to learn how to read your future is more likely to end up good than if you quit and you end up homeless. Now thinking about the gamboling, if you aren't winning, and you aren't quitting, if you stay and keep trying you are likely to lose all your money. But if you quit you might at least have your house left :) This means that I've so far concluded that people need to think for themselves, and not just let funny sayings do all their thinking, because each and every one of us who's reading this blog should know better than that. But if you take this a step further, what if you didn't read it. Some people believe everything they read. And others will believe everything they hear. What if a friend told you that saying about winning and quitting? And you believed that person. You stuck that in your head that that if you never win and never quit = bad. You don't even think about it.. walla! it's there. That means your friend is controlling your life. And this isn't real good.
Why isn't it real good for someone to control your life?
It isn't good because if you let someone control your life you've made no decisions for yourself, and you won't be happy, whoever is controlling you might be. But it isn't your job to make random controllers happy. It is your job to make YOU happy. So, say someone tells you, "hey, you would be really cool if you did this..." You know that sounds a lot like "Hey, you would be really cool if you did drugs". And you don't want to do drugs just because someone said "Hey, you would be really cool". Heck, if that person is offering you drugs how do you know they aren't high? Or they aren't thinking straight? Or they, while they're losing thousands of brain cells each second, think you would be really cool. Well, if you must listen to others, I am considered an other, and I say YOU WOULD BE REALLY COOL IF YOU DID WHAT YOU WANTED. Why not listen to me? Because I'm just another crazy on the internet? Hey, you've already started listening to me, you've made a generalization on YOUR OWN. Isn't that great? (I am aware that no one cares, but this is well worth a try)
So now, summarizing this all up:
"Quitters never win, and winners never quit. But if you never win AND never quit, you are an idiot."
This is a false statement, you must keep trying at what you MUST succeed at to become a person with a roof over your head, or maybe even, dare I say it: friends? Yes, I just suggested that if you don't know certain things you may not have any friends.
Maybe I'm on to something, maybe everyone should try to be their own person, or maybe, just maybe, I'm another one of those crazy people on the internet.
